Pictures taken at our meeting yesterday of suitable bags for the Brunel Broderers. Although no-one likes having their picture taken it is lovely to see the person with the bag. More pictures at the exhibition- Suited and a few bags for sale.

buttonhole silk...
Soon, there will be 'no more twist' (Beatrix Potter, The Tailor of Gloucester) in this stunning vintage magenta. I will feel sadness when the last strand is stitched - it is inherently beautiful on it's reel, unrolling, unfurling with energy! On researching the making of buttonholes, I decided to run some through wax before stitching, which makes it more controlled for a tailored buttonhole.. though that isn't all I stitched in little samples with it - as you will, perhaps, see - if you come to our exhibition - SIT SELECT 2013
Sketchbook sample - 3 in a row - all unfinished with one unravelled!
This morning's stitching...
Images and audio will be presented at Suited, alongside the sketchbook work

Exhibition
Yesterday I went to Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. There is a wonderful 'stitch and think' exhibition on there at the moment that responds to the 'mending' in the museum. Janet Haigh and Dawn Mason are in this group and there has been a series of workshops and talks that are very inspiring. Home some of you can go. The work is really interesting and the curating of the exhibition in a very dark room is extremely sensitive.
Well worth going.

These images are of the Tailor's shop that our exhibition 'Suited' is responding to. Thanks go to Corinne for these images, caught in time before the shop was disassembled.
