The group was formed in the autumn of 1990 by 9 students who had completed Part 2 of City and Guilds Embroidery at Brunel College with tutor, Mary Youles. They wanted to discuss and evaluate their work and hold regular workshops, developing their work within a supportive and friendly environment. Their first exhibition was in Chepstow in 1991 with A level students from Stroud College and ceramic students from Cardiff College. It was a steep learning curve with so much to organize.
