films of Art in Nature

Liz Harding's landscapes being blown gently in the breeze.

Corinne's Hung up to Dry, billowing in the breeze of the garden at Nature in art.
Only one more day to see our exhibition in the gallery and explore the gardens to find our outdoor pieces hidden within the gardens, as the exhibition closes on bank holiday monday at 5pm.

More inside out.. outside in...

Inside prayer flag with its language of stitches and backing frame of beeswax

Outside flags on withies dancing in the breeze!

These dresses were worn by Susi's nieces as part of some filming Alison worked on outside

This beauty was found inside and carefully looked at by children coming out of Carla and Alison's wonderful workshops

Quilts Outside at Nature in Art

My quilts hanging in the garden of Nature in Art, seemed to have survived the heavy rain, drying out quickly and glowing in the warm sunshine.
Three long thin quilts wrapped around the trunks of the Hazel tree and a quilt hung on the garden wall nearby, covered in symbols to represent the qualities of the Hazel as the Tree of Knowledge. Orange used as the colour traditionally associated with the Hazel.

Kay, Liz, Steph & Carla spent a lovely day together on Wednesday sorting our individual artists postcards into packs and then wrapping them with individual handmade wrappers.
The wrappers waiting to be wrapped around the postcards.

The completed packs ready for our exhibition at Nature in Art. Each postcard pack contains 12 individual postcards about each member of BB's.

Me too!

These are just about ready -  paper folded, silk scraps stitched and buttons sewn on.
I loved the repetition of processes - cutting, folding, stitching - 30 times
Looking forward to seeing the cards back from the printers!
Must start to prepare the short Talk for Wednesday 19th August about preparing for the Exhibition and showing images of the BB's 'work in progress' towards it....

Ecodyed fabric & papers

Windfall leaves collected at Nature in Art, wrapped in silk noil bundles.  The start of my pieces for our exhibition INSIDE:TUO recording the seasonal changes in the garden.

Really pleased with the results, especially the pieces dyed with birch leaves. I'll be joining them to create a long thin hanging.

My steamed papers were even better.

Nature in Art visit

Eight of us spent a day at Nature in Art, Twigworth, looking around the gardens and gallery for potential spaces to place pieces for our exhibition INSIDE : TUO in August 2015.
We are planning to exhibit in the gallery and outside in the gardens, and found lovely spots to consider.
My favourite, this beautiful Hazel tree, set amongst some of their sculptures.
Carla & Carolyn found brambles laden with blackberries, in amongst beds full of wild flowers and seed heads.

Watch this space, to see how our work develops for this exhibition.
